Miss Rachel Brewer

Director of Academics, Upper School Literature and Rhetoric

Miss Brewer is in her fifth year teaching upper school history, literature, and rhetoric at Providence. She previously taught literature, Latin, and history/geography for four years at a Christian school in Southern Illinois. A couple of her favorite things about teaching are having great conversations with her students, inspired by the literature they read together during the year, as well as sharing her love and excitement for medieval history! She has worked for several summers as an archaeologist in the UK and US.

(BA, History, Southern Illinois University; MA, Archaeology, Cardiff University – Wales)

“My interest in classical education began during my experience of teaching at a non-classical school. The more I’ve learned about it, the more I’m constantly amazed at the opportunities for personal, mental, and spiritual growth this model presents to both students and teachers. I look forward to another great year!” ~ Miss Brewer
