Mr. Brien McCarthy
Mr. McCarthy joined Providence in 2015 after serving 18 years as a public school principal and administrator. Earlier in his career he was a Physical Education teacher in the Pattonville School District and served as the K-8 PE Coordinator. He coached basketball at St. Dominic High School for four years. At Providence, he has served as the varsity boys basketball coach for the past six years. Mr. McCarthy was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to St. Louis initially to be a part of a church outreach program. He participated in this program with a local church for two years, serving as the leader his second year. Mr. McCarthy and his wife Julie, Providence’s kindergarten teacher, have three children, including two Providence graduates.
